Voltage Regulator is a component that can provide a stable output voltage when the power supply voltage or load current changes. Common voltage regulators are mainly divided into two types: linear regulators and switching regulators. Among them, switching regulators generate the specified output voltage by repeatedly switching the output stage's switch state and combining it with other energy storage components. On the other hand, linear regulators dynamically adjust the voltage difference between the input and output by obtaining the feedback of the output voltage and utilizing a control circuit composed of an error amplifier to achieve dynamic voltage regulation. Its main characteristic is that the input voltage VIN is greater than the output voltage VOUT. With the widespread application of low-dropout regulators in microcontrollers in recent years, to meet market demand, our company has introduced its proprietary brand XBLW AMS1117.
02 Key Features of the Classic Linear Regulator XBLW AMS1117
1. Output current capability up to 1A.
2. Output voltage accuracy of ±1.5%.
3. Built-in thermal protection and current limiting protection functions.
4. Fixed output voltages of 1.2V, 1.5V, 1.8V, 2.5V, 2.85V, 3.3V, and 5V. (Refer to Figure 1).

05Applications of XBLW AMS1117:

If the load current is too high or the ambient temperature is too high, AMS1117 will immediately interrupt the output to protect the load and itself.
