The XBLW DS18B20 is a digital thermometer that offers temperature measurement with a resolution of 9 to 12 bits. It can program temperature lower and upper limit alarms via programmable non-volatile memory units. The XBLW 18B20 communicates with a host computer using a single-bus protocol, requiring only one signal line and one ground line. It has a temperature measurement range of -55°C to +125°C, with a testing accuracy of ±0.4°C within the range of -10°C to +70°C. Additionally, it can operate in parasitic power mode, directly powered through the signal line without requiring an additional power supply. Each XBLW 18B20 has a globally unique 64-bit serial number, allowing multiple XBLW 18B20s to be daisy-chained on the same single bus for networked operation, requiring only one processor to control multiple XBLW 18B20s distributed over a wide area.
